Was Old Wicker Or Rattan Furniture Treated With A Chemical That Would Cause An Odor?

back in the day they used cerasol, and gas, i watched a couple of furiture guys in baton rouge dip chairs and fence rails. they said it makes them bug proof and last longer, it did smell , but i saw some that were a week or so old and dried and they didnt, so i guess it works
